Spanish woman who became the world's oldest mother when she gave birth to twin boys in 2006 has died aged 70, a local newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Maria del Carmen Bousada de Lara, who was 67 when she had the twins following artificial insemination in the United States, was diagnosed with cancer just months after the birth, the Diario de Cadiz said.
Bousada admitted she had lied about her age when she applied for the process at the Los Angeles clinic as the legal limit was 55 years and later joked she may even live to meet her grandchildren after her own mother lived to the age of 101
