BCCI OK With Sourav Ganguly as President

. Thursday, July 9, 2009

After reports emerged that Sourav Ganguly could be seen as the BCCI President in five year's time, the former Indian skipper admitted to having administrative ambitions.

Dada is contesting the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) polls later this month.

Sourav Ganguly said that he was willing to do more for the game in Bengal and be associated with it. He said, "It will be new, but I am willing to contest the CAB polls and do whatever best I can for cricket in Bengal."

BCCI is reportedly open to the idea of Sourav becoming the BCCI President in 2014 when it is East Zone's turn to put up a candidate for the top job.

"I am convinced that I can play a positive role. Having played the game at the highest level and being part of the system, I know what it takes to make a difference," Sourav Ganguly told a national daily.
