Meet the oldest Cat, 28yr old Jessie

Cats have nine lives -- the saying seems to be going some way to explaining Jessie's age as she approaches her 28th birthday.

Jessie's owners think she may be declared Britain's oldest feline. In fact, in human terms the cat will be 129 in August.

"It would be wonderful if she was declared the oldest cat in the country. She's still surprisingly sprightly for her age," the 'Daily Express' quoted owner Joyce Elliott, 57, of South Shields as saying.
